About Rosemarie

Rosemarie is a first generation born Cuban-American and started kindergarten only speaking Spanish.  She became the first person in her family to attend college, and went on to graduate from Syracuse Law School in 1993.
Rosemarie and her husband, Grant, moved to Niskayuna in 1999, and raised three children: Olivia (Marist College graduate, age 23); Isabelle (WPI junior, age 20); and Colton (Wells College sophomore, age 18).
Rosemarie believes very strongly that any meaningful life must include public service and has lived her life accordingly.  She has spent that past 20 years serving New York State as an attorney for the Assembly, and is currently the Director of Administration for the Legislative Bill Drafting Commission.
Since 2014, Rosemarie has been an elected member of the Niskayuna School Board, including serving as the Board's President from 2016 to 2018, and its Vice President between 2015 and 2016.  As a school board member, Rosemarie has worked with colleagues to keep the district under the tax cap every single year, including one year with an unprecedented 0% tax levy increase.  Rosemarie hopes to bring her record of fiscal responsibility to the Town Board.

Rosemarie is well versed in the challenges that exist for the Town of Niskayuna in the present economic environment, and is fully committed to continuing work to make Niskayuna the best it can be.
